Balenciaga to launch new perfume with Coty

After a long break from the beauty business, Balenciaga have signed an exclusive deal with Coty Prestige to launch new fragrances

The partnership, announced today, will renew Balenciaga's image as a serious fragrance contender and will be in keeping with their fragrance heritage, which started in 1946 with the launch of the iconic scent, 'Le Dix'.

Coty Prestige, who also distributes fragrances such as Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Chloe among others, have said the first fragrance is likely to launch in the spring of 2010.

"Balenciaga's meaningful heritage lends itself perfectly to Coty Prestige's designer portfolio. Balenciaga is a highly distinctive brand as it embodies couture with a visionary style," said Michele Scannavini, President, Coty Prestige today.

With the A-list clamouring to wear Nicolas Ghesquiere's futuristic designs for Balenciaga, we predict the new fragrances will head straight to the top of must-have, most wanted lists.

Pixie Geldof teams up with Katherine Hamnett for charity

Pixie Geldof is the face of a new campaign to put an end to illegal human trafficking.

The model daughter of one of the world's most vocal charity workers is teaming up with iconic fashion designer Katherine Hamnett to draw attention to this cause by modelling Hamnett's latest slogan tee (pictured) designed to raise awareness of illegal trafficking.

"Every year 2.5 million people are trafficked globally, and many women my age and younger are forced into the sex trade. It’s time we open our eyes to the situation. This is real and it has to stop!"

The design launches next week (14th October), ahead EU Anti-trafficking Day (18th October) spearheaded by Odanadi UK. At the moment this £20 tee is so limited edition that it will only be available at the event, but we hear there may be plans to expand it's availability.

Until then, get to London's Museum in The Docklands next Saturday to be in with a chance of bagging an limited edition Hamnett tee and do your bit for charity.

See Maggie Gyllenhaal's hot new hairstyle

Maggie Gyllenhaal goes for the chop.

Has Maggie been taking style tips from Agyness Deyn and Katie Holmes? Last night at a fashion show in Los Angeles she unveiled a new boyish crop.

Maggie's hair, like Katie, Victoria Beckham and Agyness' has gradually been getting shorter for some time, and now it seems she has finally gone for this season's must have short crop.

But unlike Katie's mannish cut, Aggy's blunt fringe or Victoria's Audrey Hepburn-esque do, Maggie has made the crop all her own with a soft long fringe, and gentle wave.

The result is a relaxed, low maintenance style, that suits Maggie's personality to a tee.

Looks like the crop is proving to be the hardest working hairstyle of the season!

Click now to see who else is doing the crop and how to achieve it.

Celebrate Diesel's 30th birthday bash with their not-to-be missed offer

Italian denim brand Diesel turns 30 this year, and to mark the anniversary the company is hosting not one, but 17 parties across the globe.

Proceedings kick off tonight at the label's Covent Garden store with the first Triple xXx party. Live bands including Black Cherry and Princeton will be performing, followed by a silent disco - you wear headphones to hear the music being played - featuring DJ's Zombie Disco Squad and FrankMusic.

The party will also give fans the opportunity to get their hands on the last 100 tickets to Saturday's otherwise sold out 30th Birthday extravaganza in London, for just £5. The money raised will be donated to the charity Livity.

That party will be just one of 17 being hosted across the globe on Saturday night, all promising an incredible line-up of bands and DJ's. The London leg of the event is happening at club-du-jour Matter, expect to see a long list of celebritites lining up to see Mark Ronson, Friendly Fires, Supergrass and more. Team ELLE will also be on the guest list, so click back on Sunday to see our exclusive party coverage when we'll be talking to all the celebs at the event.

And finally, Diesel are so happy to be turning 30 that they are slashing their prices - for one day only.

Head down to your nearest store at 10am tomorrow (with the exception of London's New Bond Street shop), and you'll be able to scoop a pair of the brand's limited edition Dirty Thirty jeans (pictured here on Daisy Lowe) for just £30. The jeans feature exclusive details such as an embroidered xXx detail on the back patch, a specially created 'dirty wash' treatment and buttons embossed with Diesel's date of birth.

Happy Birthday Diesel.
