• Meghan Markle's best friend Janina Gavankar has slammed the media for photoshopping the Sussexes' Christmas card.
  • Janina took the photo, and shared the original image to Instagram.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's 2019 Christmas card is just about the cutest thing ever, featuring their son Archie adorably gazing into the camera while Meghan and Harry smile proudly behind them, with a Christmas tree as their backdrop.

The Sussexes are spending Christmas in Canada, while taking a break from royal duties, and their Christmas card photo was taken by Meghan's close friend Janina Gavankar—who hopped on Instagram to slam British media after a photoshopping scandal was wrongly reported by certain tabloid publications, including the Mail Online.

'Proud to have taken the Christmas photo for one of my best friends and her family,' Janina wrote. 'Here’s the original that was sent out (cropped to fit IG)....and to The Mail, I see your campaign against my friend continues. Nice photoshop of my non-photoshopped image. Now may we all get back to the spirit of Christmas and not the spirit of maliciousness."

Janina is refers to an article written by The Daily Mail questioning whether or not Meghan's face was 'photoshopped onto Christmas e-card' which had 'experts' claiming her "face appears weirdly in focus in Archie snap while Prince Harry is blurry.'

As it turns out, it was a Markle fan that had doctored the image. @SussexDiary took to Twitter to explain the mix up, stating that she had made the edit with an app called Remini in an attempt to fix a blurriness that she had perceived in the original.

The account has since shut down, after receiving a lot of unwanted attention.

Considering that Meghan Markle had nothing to do with the altered image, it seems reasonable for the photographer to want to come to her defence.
