Kendall Jenner and Tracee Ellis Ross have opened up about the first time they each were asked to walk the runway with their 'boobs out.'
During an interview with Harry Styles – who Jenner previously dated – on the Late Late Show this week, the 24-year-old reality star spoke about her first experience on the catwalk.
‘My boobs were out the first show I ever did,’ the model said, referring to her model moment in a short cropped brown wig and bleached eyebrows during the Marc Jacobs show in 2014.
‘I’d just turned 18 and they were like, “take your shirt off”,’ she explained.
Jenner’s candid admission came moments after former model Tracee Ellis Ross recalled one of her first catwalk appearances which saw her walk the runway without a top, despite her protestations not to.
‘I was terrified because my boobies were out and I’m 19,’ the Black-ish writer said, pointing to a photo the former One Direction singer was holding of her wearing a jewelled bra on the runway.
‘My first show my t*ts were out!’ Jenner added.
Ellis Ross continued, explaining that it was supermodel Naomi Campbell who made her wise up to the realities of being a model.
The actress recalled the British star asking her '"Darling are you a model or aren’t you a model?"'
When Ellis Ross told the model that she was, Campbell replied: ‘Well then you wear what they give you.’
In September, Jenner returned to the runway for Versace, Fendi and Burberry after previously opening up about suffering from debilitating anxiety.
'I used to get really nervous during fashion shows,' the Calabasas-born star explained at the Longchamp SS20 show.
'I feel like when you’re walking on the runway—I say this from experience—you’re just thinking, "Walk straight! Walk straight!—and you try to just focus on that. Especially me, because I used to get really nervous when I knew people in the audience.’
The Californian beauty admitted that she is ‘cool’ with modelling on the runway now but it has taken ‘a little while’ to get to a comfortable position.
The models’ stories came amid interest surrounding Jenner’s appearance on the show with her ex boyfriend. During their segment on the programme together, the pair played a game of 'Spill Your Guts' where each person chooses to answer a personal question or eat/drink a not so delicious snack.
During the quiz, Jenner asked her ex 'which songs on your last album were about me?’ promoting the singer to refuse to answer the question and eat cod sperm instead.
